M.A.C. Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 vs N.Y.C. Smooth Skin

I think that mixing all different brands of makeup makes for a wise artist... sometimes you have to experiment with products to see whats good for you... I have used many foundations from brand to 'non-brand' ... Up until now my two fav have been MAC Studio Fix Fluid with SPF 15 and Revlon Colorstay/Photo Ready...
However i was doing a little comparison, and realised that NYC foundation which i have used on my past few posts and MAC foundation, quite literally look the same!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
  • Medium Buildable Coverage
  • Matte Finish
  • Contains an SPF for everyday sun protection
  • Oil Free
  • 30ml
  • £19.50
  • colour featured in this post - NW35

NYC Smooth Skin
  • Contains Vitamins A, C and E
  • Absorbs shine without clogging pores
  • just one sweep provides full coverage
  • 30ml
  • roughly about £3.99
  • Color featured in this post - Natural Tan

the good thing about the MAC foundation is that it contains an SPF which means your skin is protected when your out however, foundations with an SPF can sometimes cause that ashy grey or white pale look when taking pics... I still like the coverage this gives me, but with it being almost £20.00 a bottle, this is more like a luxury!!

the NYC foundation covers with just one sweep and although it doesnt contain and SPF it has vitamins A,C and E and well if you want an SPF on your skin just apply a moisturiser or a primer with SPF before using the foundation. For the same amount of product as the MAC you can get this for less than £5.00!!

For us Latinas, sometimes it can be quite difficult to find just the right shade of foundation, it can be either too pink or too red on application even if the colour looks like it matches on the bottle... so if your looking for a good foundation... try NYC cosmetics for a bargain purchase... you want to spend a little more, go for Revlon and if you really wanna treat yourself then by all meas splash out on MAC or even Bobbi Brown! :)
